Dangerously. I’m an early morning worker/blogger. When I’m feeling really brave, I’ll blog after my double-expresso, shot of milk, dash of cinnamon coffee. That’s usually when the post-modernism references/bad jokes come in.

I blog almost every day, taking breathers to let readers and myself get to miss me. I write the way I used to in college ‘€“ type first, edit later. I loved writing papers in college (I know, it’€™s ridiculous), and I still throw in some entries that are written like academic papers. I block quote longer passages, and bracket off word changes and editing. I still would love to footnote and have a really long bibliography at the end but it’€™s a different medium, and I can respect that.

Side note: To make things worse, or more interesting, I’€™ve just integrated flickr to the blog, which meant this morning at 7:30 I was photographing my reflection in the computer screen.

About half of the blog is what’€™s going on at Spreadshirt which is growing faster than I can type. About 10% is presentation of t-shirts shops that seem particularly poignant ‘€“ i.e. important (like one raising money for breast cancer) or topical (like soccer ‘€“ I’€™m in Europe). 10% is blogculture/web 2.0 news. The patience-requiring remaining 30% is purely what interests or amuses me (philosophising on ‘€œnobless oblige’€?, t-shirt responses to news headlines, the band ‘€œman or astroman’€?).

I love this stuff. From the figuring out how to present information in a way that is clear and hopefully entertaining, to getting to wax blogic on whatever turns me on or off. That there is a value to doing this at all, at least in the eyes of my employers and readers, still surprises me. And makes me feel totally lucky.
