The UK’s Telegraph Media Group, who publish the Telegraph newspaper, has announced that it is to launch a blogging community called “My Telegraph”.
It will allow registered users to leave comments about Telegraph articles, and have them collated into a single stream. They will also be able to upload their own images.
Shane Richmond, Telegraph.co.uk communities editor, said, “Our primary focus is to keep the initiative simple and as user-friendly as possible. Very little web expertise is required in order to get started, which we hope will encourage people who may never have blogged before to join our community.”
It marks another step in this traditional media company’s push into the online world. Most of the leading UK newspapers now have some level of interactivity with readers on their web sites.
