Website Uses Twitter To Show Which Super Bowl Commercials Viewers Like

Brand Bowl 2011

If you’re one of the millions of people who will be watching the Super Bowl on February 6th for the commercials, you may want to check out BrandBowl2011.com, a website devoted to ranking how well the events commercials resonate with viewers.

The site, sponsored by Boston.com provides instant feedback about each commercial during the big game by capturing certain phrases, catch phrases, names and brand names that are used in each commercial.

The more a phrase or name or other identifier is captured on Twitter, the higher rank that commercial receives.

Given that Justin Bieber accounts for nearly 3% of all Twitter conversations I’m going to take a wild stab and say his Best Buy commercial alongside Ozzy Osbourne will probably be the top ranking  result, that is if 12-year-old girls decide to watch the game just to see the ad.

The screen capture shown above gives last years Top 10 results and you’ll probably notice that it’s not just funny commercials that took the top spots, for example Google and their beautifully orchestrated search commercial was a big hit and instant viral success, generating plenty of Twitter conversations for the world’s top ranked search engine.
