Northwest Arkansas Startup Contest Returns: International Innovation on Display

"International Innovation"

The Northwest Arkansas student startup contest is back for its second year, showcasing 12 teams from nine diverse universities. Carrying over half a million dollars in prizes since its debut in 2020, the competition is a hotbed of innovation and entrepreneurial spirit.

This year, the teams are fighting for a portion of the prize pool exceeding $100,000. This lucrative reward is set to simulate the challenging process startups face when seeking venture capital.

An overwhelming 126 teams expressed their intent to compete this year. The event, which is scheduled for April 11-13th in vibrant downtown Bentonville, will conclude with a live broadcast and audience participation in the final vote.

The multitude of teams originate from different parts of the world, adding a global flair to the competition. To ensure a seamless audience voting process, a real-time voting technology has been inducted this year, promising an engaging experience.

The contest promises substantial winnings. The top team walks away with $50,000, followed by $25,000, $10,000, and $5,000 for runners-up. Furthermore, an “elevator pitch” competition carrying cash prizes of $3000 and $2000 adds another dimension to the contest.
