Boing Boing is under fire for failing to correct a report from author Cory Doctorow that Microsoft had acquired spyware firm Claria (formerly Gator) and had moved to downgrade the status of Claria’s software in Microsoft’s anti-spyware utility as a consequence.
Ed Bott colorfully writes that Boing Boing’s use of the post as “a spike in the end zone in the Ultimate Fantasy Bowl”.
Boing Boing has posted a correction here, but left the orginial piece online without correction.
