The Trotts have announced TypeKey, their new comment verification system to help fight against Blog Spam, and the blogosphere is a buzz in what could turn out to be one of the most talked about, controversial new launches of 2004. The Blog Herald takes a quick wrap of the emerging debate

The TypeKey site: home of the SixApart powered “free, open system providing a central identity that anyone can use to log in and post comments on blogs and other web sites.”
Jay Allen, creator of MT Black List, prophesises Black Lists demise with rise of TypeKey: “This new version completely solves the problem of control over outside submission to oneโ€™s blog in such an elegant and powerful way that I myself was astounded.”
Idly.org defends TypeKey from the knockers and has a go at Dave Winer as well “Dave Winer thinks that no one can implement a system with more ideological purity and ability than he”
