Haifa School of Design showcases 2023 talent

"Design Talent 2023"

The Haifa School of Design is offering a stage to its 2023 graduating class via an exhibition featuring a plethora of unique student projects. The exhibition, housing works from the fields of Visual Communication Design, Architecture, Photography, and Fashion Design, is open to students and the public alike, promising a display of diversity and creativity.

Each project is a representation of its creator’s artistic vision, skillfully blending theory with practice, pushing past the conventional design boundaries. A significant attraction is the presence of a panel of industry specialists, who will provide valuable feedback to the budding designers.

The Visual Communication Design Department this year has chosen to delve into some of today’s most pressing incidents, applying a critical lens to events like October 7 and the Gaza war. This critical approach aims to spark discussions around the impacts and implications of these events, highlighting the importance of visual literacy in today’s world.

Following the tragic loss of the school student Inbar Hyman, the exhibition also serves as a memorial tribute, featuring a collection of Inbar’s personal artwork and written works. The tribute includes a video installation of various portraits of her life, personal testimonials, and a reflection of her unmatched talent and impact on the community.

One notable project, Noa Gritzer’s ‘The Death of Escapism,’ stands out in its presentation of the calamity within a seemingly innocent childhood context, inviting conversations about the complexity of childhood innocence amid the escalating global crises.

Located at the German Colony in Haifa, the exhibition will be open until August 28.
