Facebook on Wednesday revealed its answer to LinkedIn. The company’s Social Jobs app is a program that allows users to search for and ultimately land job interviews.
Recent survey’s have shown that more internet users are turning to social networking to find jobs and company’s have been following suit. Unfortunately with lazy people submitting applications from behind their computer screens many company’s are met with hundreds, even thousands of unqualified apps.?
Attempting to solve the social media job search situation is?Facebook.com/SocialJobs. According to Social News Daily?the application already has more than 1.7 million jobs. Unlike competitor LinkedIn the Facebook Jobs app has partnered with various job sites including??US.jobs, Monster, BranchOut, Jobvite, and Work4 Labs.
Facebook has chosen a very simple interface with?keywords, location, category, and subcategory options which help users easily find jobs that match their skills.
Facebook in its continued support of veterans has also created a “veteran friendly” checkbox.
With thousands of new jobs being added daily and the type of engagement Facebook currently offers the Facebook Social Jobs app is in a good position to attract a large number of job seekers.
If nothing else the social jobs app is a great way to actually waste your time on Facebook … take that Zynga!
