Facebook Creates Guide For Members Of Congress, Explains Pages

Facebook Teaches Members Of Congress About Pages

Facebook is lending a hand to incoming Congressional members. The social network has created a guide that not only teaches members of Congress and their staff on how to create Facebook pages, but also how to engage with users through the use of those pages.

The guide which was published on Friday follows in the footsteps of other Facebook political attempts. In the past Facebook has taught politicians how to increase their use engagement levels.

Here are a group of the guides suggestions from SocialNewsDaily:

  • Set up your page with a good cover photo, pro?le photo and comments policy.
  • Set profanity ?lters, admin roles and posting ability of fans.
  • Create a ?conversation calendar? to map out key dates and postings a few weeks in advance.
  • Promote your page everywhere. Ask email list contacts to become fans.
  • Post behind the scenes photos and videos.
  • Introduce fans to your DC of?ce and?staff.
  • Create a welcome video.
  • Do a regular Q&A with fans.
  • Add milestones.
  • Explain the votes you take.
  • Utilize photos and images.
  • Add Facebook plug-ins to your website.
  • Already have a profile? Turn on subscriptions or migrate all friends to a page using?https://www.facebook.com/pages/create.php?migrate.

Congressional users also learn how to create the best possible ?cover photo and profile picture.

Facebook also suggests that Congressional members use the Army’s Faceboom comment guest suggestions which can be found?here.
