CNET to Launch Web-Based RSS Reader

Steve Rubel at Micro Persuasion reports in an exclusive that CNET News.com is launching a Web-based RSS news aggregator called Newsburst. The site, now in preview, will compete with exisiting services including MyMSN, MyYahoo! and Bloglines.

He suggests in the post that this is the beginning of a trend where old media and the tech press will launch branded RSS aggregators to make sure they retain reader loyalty.
