US hosting company Hostway has released the details of a new survey in relation to attitudes towards blogging.
The survey of 2,500 people found that 80% of respondents did not believe that bloggers should be allowed to publish home addresses and other personal information about private citizens, 72% for celebrities and 68% for elected or appointed government officials such as judges or mayors.
Of the people surveyed 30% had never heard of blogging before the survey and only 30% had visited a blog.
Positively for those following the Apple v Bloggers case in California, 52% of those surveyed said bloggers should have the same rights as traditional journalists, while 27 percent did not express an opinion.
