Blogs used for reading programme

A Singapore based Chinese language teacher, Mr Tan Yuh Huann has won a Hewlett-Packard INIT Gold Award during the Singapore EdTech Awards 2004 for an innovative reading program that incorporates reading blogs.

Said Mr Tan: ‘I came up with this idea of using blogs for a reading program after a few students asked me to visit their blogs. This also allows me to know my students better by participating in their blogs.’

Students have reportedly embraced the program and Mr Tan leaves comments on their blogs (ed: undoubtedly correcting their grammar).
