Aruba National Park Foundation rebrands, focuses on ecological preservation

"Ecological Preservation"

The Aruba National Park Foundation is stepping into a new era, now rebranded as the Aruba Conservation Foundation in a bid to more clearly communicate its dedication to preserving the island’s precious environment. In safeguarding and maintaining Aruba’s ecological beauty, the foundation is focusing on sustainable conservation and protection of the island’s rich biodiversity.

The Aruba Conservation Foundation engages in the conservation of approximately a quarter of all natural habitats on Aruba. This includes wetlands, dunes, caves, and mangroves. The Foundation also takes significant steps to minimize human impact on these habitats, deploying sustainable practices and initiatives to combat environmental degradation.

Under its new brand identity, the Foundation is positioning itself as Aruba’s ‘Voice of Nature,’ emphasizing its role in environmental conservation and nurturing a closer connection to nature among island residents.

This new identity is an encouraging reminder of the organization’s commitment to protect and conserve the environment and inspire love and respect for nature among the local population.

The Foundation’s updated logo integrates elements that reflect its commitment to nature, including waves, cacti, and human figures. These symbols along with their new color theme, speak volumes about the diversity of Aruba’s geographical features. The intention behind the new design is to illustrate the joint commitment towards maintaining ecological balance.

As part of the rebrand, special attention is given to endangered Aruban species like the Aruban whiptail lizard, Aruba rattlesnake, Aruban brown-throated parakeet, and the Aruban burrowing owl or Shoco. The illustrations of these species serve as a stark reminder of the plight of these animals, and a call to action in protecting and conserving them.

The comprehensive revamp of the Foundation extends to several platforms, from their website and social media networks to maps, staff uniforms, and park signage. This wide-ranging implementation expresses their commitment to involving the community in initiatives such as guided trails, corporate events, and outdoor educational programs.
