Yahoo! Spain has threatened legal action against growing Spanish blog network Weblogs SL over a post on their software blog Genbeta that provided information on how to download videos from Yahoo! Launch.
Oddly though, the information in the post actually related to a third party post on the subject and was not the original provider of the information: it originated from a post at Easysilence here, and was clearly reference in the post on Genbeta.
Julio Alonso of Weblogs SL has advised the Blog Herald via email that he believes this is the first time one of the large internet companies has sent a cease and desist letter to a Spanish blog.
According to his English laungage post on the subject, that despite his own views on the topic, Weblogs SL has duly take down the note “to avoid the possible legal liabilities that were clearly stated on the email.”
