SixApart talking to News Corp?

Alright, there’s a whole lot of rumors going around at the moment, and its hard to decide whether to publish them or not (although the source for theGawker/ News Corp rumor is known to me). Another interesting rumor, this time off an anonymous email so it has a lot less credibility, that News Corp is trying to do a deal with SixApart. The rumor also suggests that as well as being a perfect fit next to the more social-networking oriented MySpace, they would also be looking at offering all but the premium packages on TypePad for free.

I’ll warn that this rumor needs to be taken with a grain of salt and cannot be verified, although it would make a lot of sense, certainly SixApart has been primed for takeover for a long time. I guess we’ll see sooner or later. If you’ve got any other industry gossip email me at editor@blogherald.com
