SixApart gets into bed with Kazaa

There’s been plenty of publicity on the inclusion of Skype in the latest version of P2P file sharing software Kazaa, but how many are aware that included in the latest version is trial membership with the SixApart owned blog host TypePad?

With Kazaa owner Sharman Networks currently in court in Australia, being sued by Five record labels including EMI, Sony BMG and Warner who claim that their file-swapping software Kazaa represents the “world’s biggest copyright piracy engine”, the association between the Mena and Ben Trott founded company and the worlds (allegedly) largest music piracy engine makes for interesting bedfellows. Even more so considering that file swappers don’t usually like to pay for things, like blog hosting, and the Trott’s hardly being advocates of free software.
