I’ve had a few suggestions that we start running some donation banners across the Weblog Empire network for the victims of Hurricane Katrina, but not being American I’ve got no idea which charity is better that the other. Glenn Reynolds at Instapundit has a comprehensive list but I’m opening it up to Blog Herald readers to make suggestions. The American Red Cross would be the obvious choice, but if they are anything like the Australian Red Cross you can be asured that only half the money will ever get to the victims and the people in need, just like it did for the Bali Bombings Appeal here in Australia.
Suggest away, and by all means provide links to your favorite charaties. I’ll decide in the next 24 hours which charity we’ll be supporting, and recommending this to other readers as well.
Update: thank you everyone for your suggestions. Please click here for details on our choice and how to donate.
