Global PR agency, The Romans, has been selected by Ingka Centres, a key collaborator of IKEA, following a thorough selection process involving various major agencies. The partnership is set to elevate Ingka Centre’s worldwide positioning and communication strategy to new heights.

The Romans are entrusted to spearhead Ingka Centres’ comprehensive global communication programme. Ingka Centres are part of the Ingka Group, which also incorporates IKEA Retail and Ingka Investments. They operate many retail centres globally, attracting over 352 million visitors annually.

Integrating with a strong customer-centric approach, Ingka aims to enhance the overall customer experience through engaging relationships and sophisticated business operations. For the UK market specifically, their expansion plans in strategic locations are keenly awaited.

With this new alliance, The Romans will play an instrumental role in enhancing Ingka’s retail brand. This is expected to create stronger media, customer, and employee relationships while driving increased visitor footfall.

The project’s scale is vast, covering all of Ingka Centres’ owned, earned, or shared media, set to last for several years. Notably, The Romans will foster a positive work culture through efficient internal communications and acting adeptly during any crisis to safeguard the company’s reputation. The added responsibility of staying abreast with digital trends to improve visibility and engagement will also be a part of their mandate.

On the other hand, Swedish firm Weber Shandwick will retain control of Ingka Centres’ global marketing activities as well as managing IKEA’s corporate and public affairs in the UK. Other firms such as Edelman, Milltown Partners, and Hill & Knowlton, will continue providing support for IKEA’s international growth. In the UK, Hope & Glory will persist in supervising IKEA’s customer PR activities.

Karolina Horoszczak, head of global integrated communication at Ingka Centres, commended The Romans, expressing satisfaction with their strategic alignment with the company’s long-term goals. Alex Perry and Sam Hodges, key personnel at The Romans, will manage the account. No strangers to working with big names, The Romans’ client list includes Supercell, Formula E, and Heineken and they have just added B&Q to their roster.
