MySpace hits Japan
Reuters reports that News Corp. has partnered up with Softbank Corp. in a joint venture called MySpace Japan. An official announcement is due this week, or perhaps the next.
In the same report we also learn what an impact MySpace can have on other businesses. Mixi Inc. is running a social networking site, and they found their shares fall with 10% after the news broke. Interestingly enough, Softbanks’€™ shares fell with 1.84% as well, perhaps a sign that News Corp. is thought to be the winner of the deal.
I wonder what happened in Russia when the LiveJournal deal was announced?
