Have you been tweeting about the goodness of Kraft Macaroni & Cheese? If you have a TV spot featuring your tweet and Twitter username could start appearing on Kraft commercials in the next 24 hours as part of the company’s new push to reach out to customers using social media.
Twitter employees and the peeps at Crispin Porter + Bogusky are spending the day browsing around the Twitterverse, looking for the right tweet to feature in a new ad.
The company will find five tweets that feature the words “Mac & Cheese” and will then create separate commercials around each tweet. The main winner will play during TBS’ airing of talk shows Conan and Lopez Tonight while the other four will be showcased on the company’s Facebook page.
You may recall that last month various Tweeters who talked about Mac & Cheese were given five boxes of the company’s product along with a T-Shirt if they were the first person to click on an offered link versus one other person who also mentioned the company’s Mac & Cheese product line.
That promotion brought in more than 1.5 million Tweets for the company and “Mac & Cheese” became a trending topic on Twitter for a day.
