Google+ Now Has 90 Million Users, Growing Rapidly

Google Plus 90 Million UsersGoogle+ is cruising along these days and that fact was buoyed by Google CEO Larry Page on Thursday when he announced during the company’s quarterly finance meeting that Google+ is now serving more than 90 million users.

When you take into consideration the fact that Google+ was reporting just 40 million users in October 2011 the improvement in usage is astounding.

In December 2011 Google+ watcher Paul Allen predicted that the social network had 62 million users while Experian Hitwise has predicted 400 million users by the end of 2012.

According to Page:

“I am super excited about the growth of Android, Gmail, and Google+, which now has 90 million users globally – well over double what I announced just three months ago.”

“By building a meaningful relationship with our users through Google+ we will create amazing experiences across our services. I’m very excited about what we can do in 2012 – there are tremendous opportunities to help users and grow our business.”

During the meeting Larry Page refused to estimate how many users the company would have by the end of 2012 but did say that users are “very engaged with our products — over 60% of them engage daily, and over 80% weekly.”

Unfortunately Page did not state which Google products are engaged daily, he could have been referring to Google+, Gmail, Google Maps or various other Google products including Google Android.

In the meantime Google+ still trails far behind Facebook which is expected to reach 1 billion users by August 2012.

Have you jumped on the Google+ bandwagon yet? Why or why not?
