“Blogging For A Cause” $6k winners announced

The results of last month’s Blogging for a Cause are in (in fact, they were in last week but I was on vacation so missed the announcement).

Though it was a fairly small online campaign by some standards, it generated over 400 blog posts in support of around 60 charities and not-for-profit organizations.

The five charities who get to split the $6,000 prize pot, donated by Zemanta and Weber Shandwick, are:

Zemanta’s CEO, Ales Spetic, said, “We’ve been blown away by how successful this challenge was at inspiring conversations about, and deeper engagement with, a wide variety of charities and causes across the web. There are so many amazing new and independent charities out there making a difference using the power of the internet, and it’s been hugely exciting for us to help bring a spotlight to them. The top five Blogging For A Cause charities are all worthy winners, all of them embracing the innovations of the social web to help change people’s lives in many small but important ways.”
