Adele reveals why she doesn't tweet

Do you follow Adele on Twitter? If you do, you already know that she doesn’t tweet quite as often as most celebrities — actually, she doesn’t tweet very much at all. Scrolling through her tweets, most of them are just promotional material for her upcoming, super-to-be-awesome album 25. Speaking to the BBC’s Graham Norton, Adele reveals why she doesn’t tweet: drunk tweets.

Adele’s been on Twitter since 2010, but she’s been banned from sending out tweets. The news breaks when an audience member asks Adele if the rumor about being banned from Twitter is true, and Adele comes clean.

The Grammy-Award winning vocalist explains that back in the old days of Twitter, she would get a little too drunk and start tweeting, constantly nearly putting her “foot in it a few times.” As a result, her management team has banned her from sending out any tweets without approval.

In the interview, the musician admits that she doesn’t drink anymore, though. Adele has more than 23 million followers on Twitter, but she’s only tweeted 229 times.
