Wikipedia Treats Danny Sullivan Like a Spammer

Threadwatch reports that SEW Blogger Danny Sullivan is being treated as a spammer by Wikipedia. Interesting comments as well, with one person suggesting Wikipedia is the new DMOZ. Personally I think they’re wrong. Wikipedia is far worse than DMOZ, its basically a closed club of self-important nazis who basically reserve links for their friends whilst blocking out legitimate links elsewhere because they are “commercial” or “fansites”, which is always ironic given nearly every page in the service already has links of the same type, difference usually is that the links are given by the editors to their friends. As for community? I’ve been involved in some pages that have supported may 5-6 external links that the regular page editors all agreed on, then some senior administrator from Wikipedia comes along and deletes them all and ignores the regular contributors. One of the reasons I don’t contribute at Wikipedia any more.
