Media professionals portal Mediabistro.com has launched five new blogs as part of its ongoing efforts to intensify news coverage of key media sectors.
“Some people might think they need to read mediabistro.com only when they want a job,” says mediabistro.com founder and CEO Laurel Touby. “Now, they’ll need to read it every day.”

The new blogs include three regional media gossip blogs for New York, Washington D.C., and Los Angeles, under the “fishbowl” name, that is aiming to provide an irreverent insider glimpse into media happenings in three of the largest markets in the United States.
“The tagline for the fishbowl blogs says it all,” says Mediabistro editor-in-chief Elizabeth Spiers, the former editor of Gawker, “You can’t shoot spitballs at the media elite if you don’t know who they are.”
The three sites, fishbowlNY.com, fishbowlDC.com and fishbowlLA.com will provide daily commentary on the people, events and ideas that shape media culture in the three cities.
The three blogs are suppliments with UnBeige.com is mediabistro’s new blog about design and MBToolbox.com is a service-oriented blog for writers and journalists that will link to useful resources and provide tips and commentary on writing and editing.
