Google Adsense sinks to a new low: promoting Blogger blog-spamming services via Adsense

adsense adSpotted this ad at The Blog Herald for a site by the name of www.blogger-generator.biz which promotes spam blogging via Google’s Blogger. The first lines of the page:

So how does BloggerGenerator help you?
Create blogs EXTREMELY fast, up to 15 blogs a minute just using one instance of the program. (You can open up multiple instances of the program for faster blog creation.)
Automatically change the Blogger template from NOINDEX,NOFOLLOW to INDEX,FOLLOW. This tells the search engine spiders to INDEX the blog and FOLLOW the links on the page. This is what really helps with getting indexed by Google.

Now I know Google’s Adsense has sunk to a new low.

  • Yep … I found and Adsense ad on one of my blogs that led to a site that sells a software called “Blog Link Generator”.

    I don’t remember exactly what the sales pitch said … but it was somthing likke …

    “Just type your comment (text) into BLG, add your keywords, and the software will magically post your comment to thousands of blogs based on the keywords you specify. Try to keep your comment as short and general as possible, so as to avoid staying off-topic and blog owners marking your text as comment spam”

    Since I saw this, I’ve been deleting such comments as “Cool stuff” , “Excellent post” …. etc from my blogs.

  • Hey Duncan,

    I gave some of this info to Matt Cutts at his Blog on Jan. 7th and (tho’ I may have missed it) haven’t seen a reply from him about it. I’ve just assumed he’s been so busy he didn’t see it.

    Back to point – do you think G cares where the $$$ come from? I doubt it. They have the info – heck, anyone can find it! The person who created this junk BRAGS about what it can do. I’d quote all his brags but it would take less space if I just gave you the URL (the same one I gave Matt);

    http://bloggergenerator.com/blog/?p=2

    The .biz URL is from a Clickbank affiliate… who has obviously paid G for his/her ads, nothing more, nothing less. Clickbank should be considered in this equation.

  • It strikes me as odd that Google was undermine the usability of their search engine for the few dollars they receive in the short term from adsense revenue. There’s something fishy going on with Google.
