Bloggers, freelance writers, and practically every online worker have a tendency to stay in their physical comfort zone. Whether it’s a home office, the couch, or the kitchen table, online workers spend majority of their time indoors, relentlessly working and making sure that they meet deadlines and satisfy their clients.

This is quite understandable, as remote workers do need a certain level of routine to be able to maintain – and even increase – their output, which their income depends on. There is, however, something to be said about going out of that “blogging cave” from time to time. Let’s take a look at a handful of convincing reasons you should get out of your blogging cave more.

Everyone needs a break.

Let’s face it. There are times when you do so much work and nothing else that you feel like you’re going to go nuts. You see the same thing day in, day out – your four walls. You do the same things at a pace that may be productive, but tiring. At the end of the day, there is one thing that applies to everyone: the necessity of a break.

You may be a workaholic and thrive on a workload that would kill any other worker, but the fact remains that your mind and body will benefit from a break.

Go outside and people watch over coffee and cake. Sign up for an adventure day and forget about work for a while. Your rejuvenated self will only be more productive after that.

You can find inspiration.

They say that writers – or bloggers, for that matter – should not wait for inspiration. This is how pros do it: they just go ahead and steam ahead till they get things done.

Of course, it would be nice to have inspiration strike you more often. One way to increase those occurences is to find stimuli. If you’re cooped up in your blogging cave for days on end, you’ll probably be exposed to the same stimuli, and your creativity levels may not be at their optimum. Going out, immersing yourself in new environments, and engaging in novel activities are sure to strike a new spark or two.

Content Topics and Ideas For Your Blog

Everyone is a social creature at some level.

Admit it or not, you need a certain degree of social interaction. You may be the biggest introvert in the world, but interacting with people face-to-face will do you good as well. It doesn’t have to be a long, drawn out conversation. It doesn’t have to be partying every weekend. All that matters is that from time to time, you get to interact with real people in your life and go beyond the emails, tweets, and Facebook comments that constitute many a blogger’s life.

Wrap up

Going out and actually doing things other than work may seem daunting, or it may even seem a nuisance. If you feel that way, why not try – just try – going out once this week and doing something new? Perhaps you’ll experience the benefits of doing so, and before you know it, you might be wanting to get out of your blogging cave more.
