It’s now a powerhouse tool for reaching billions of readers worldwide using ideas and discussion to change world views, challenge norms and sell products. As we go with the flow of the blogosphere we continuously look for ways to make our own messages stand out from the rest and gain special attention and traction. Writer’s block occurs when you just can’t seem to figure out what to write regarding the topic you’ve been tasked with. Most bloggers never experience any great successes with their writing, its sad but true. However, its not because blogging as a practice is defunct, or that there’s some magic formula for success but its that many lack the mindset, drive, vision and attention to detail required by an industry which is driven by quality. There aren’t many guarantees in life but what I can say is that one of the most tried and proven approaches to successful personal life and business is one of tenacity and persistence to deliver results, regardless of the odds. Let’s face it, blogging is a crowded game today with hundreds of millions of voices trying desperately to make their mark. However, one thing you’ll realize is that in every saturated market, every economic depression, there are still many who discover some “secret” and find solutions to the challenges. But there’s no secret, the successful stories reveal a common nature and this is one made of persistence, patience, repetition and an unrelenting tenacity.
We are obsessed with success and admire successful people. We spend most of our dreaming hours dwelling on and envisioning our own victories. Because visuals can make or break a blog post, it is crucial that you choose the right images for each post. The photos’ subject, colors, size, and placement can positively impact your post’s success.
The most important part of any image is logistical over visual. Only choose images that you have the rights to use. For larger blogs, it may be worthwhile to invest in a stock photo site membership, like Shutterstock or iStockPhoto. If you’d rather go with royalty-free or creative commons photos, be sure you are using the right attribution and that you can use them. For example, some creative commons photos only let you use images for non-commercial use. If you use the image for a business blog, which counts as a commercial property, so you technically can’t use non-commercial creative commons images. [Read more…]
